The Department of Labor Protection of EMC has been established in April, 1978. The laboratory of industrial sanitary of EMC was established in 1991 and in 1995 The Department of Labor Protection was transformed into the Department of Labor and Environment Protection. Since 2007, the Department of Labor and Environment Protection has been operating with the following sections: Labor protection and safety section, Environment section, Industrial Sanitary Laboratory and 19 workers. 13 workshops of the company have 26 permanent labor safety engineers and in other 10 workshops and departments, labor safety issues are handled by managers, deputy managers in addition to their main functions.

    The Labor and Environment Protection Department of the company carries out systematic works on the prevention of industrial accidents, occupational diseases, intensification of control on implementation of labor safety regulations, instructions and laws, making the workers to pay more attention on their labor safety and sanitary, provision of industrial sanitary and safe conditions, increase of workers’ individual responsibility, intensification of preventive measures against potential accidents and damages, improvement of operative control and monitoring methods.

     A telephone No.71-300 is applied for reception of the information on potential negative factors affecting the execution of the duties by the workers and giving answers to them.

     The company has established a non-permanent labor safety and sanitary council consisting of workers’ and managerial representatives, with the purpose of coordination of activities on improvement of labor conditions, formation of optimal working environment and the prevention of industrial accidents and occupational diseases. The council has planned specific measures and is now implementing them. It is very important to properly organize and implement the system of management of labor safety and sanitary council.

     The council is conducting complex and surprise checks on labor safety and sanitary in all workshops and sections of the company, giving directions for revealed violations and defects, as well as conducting monitoring checks in workplaces and controlling the execution of the instructions.

     The council is also taking measures on prevention of accidents, avoiding violations in other workshops, on elimination of same existing violations in a workshop, and broadcasting warning information on safety through internal network of the company.
